About this blog

Welcome to Home-Server Blog – a blog about Linux, Debian, Linux Workstation, and running a home-server. Originally, this blog was named “Home Server.” After a lot of thinking, I’ve decided to drop that title and came up with “The Lonely Linux User.” See, that’s what I am a Lonely Linux User., it’s been always like this. Unfortunately, the main link will always show homeserver instead of the new blog name. That was set in stone I don’t think I can change it.

This blog is about my hobby. It’s about the Linux operating system. It’s about running and owning both a home-server and a Linux workstation. Since, I’ve been living in a Linux silo for decades, I would like to reach out to the world. Therefore, I’m using this blog to reach out to the world and connect with like-minded individuals.

I’ve been using Linux on and off since Debian first came out. I mainly concentrate my efforts on Debian and OpenSuSe Linux. However, in recent months I’ve been using Debian more than OpenSuSe. With the recent release of Debian 10 Buster, I say, believe, that Linux Desktop is ready for the masses. Debian, it’s a well polished OS and it’s been around for a long time, in fact Debian is the main core for many of the derivatives distributions like Ubuntu.

I’m also using this blog to improve my writing. I feel that this is one of my weakness, thus, I have an urge to write. Conveying our thought in a clear an concise manner is very important because it improves and helps the quality of our writing. I hope to improve my writing through this blog. If you see something that does not make sense, don’t hesitate to point it out to me. Thank you for taking your time to read this blog. In that context, don’t hesitate to contact me, e-mail to eoftoro@gmail.com.
